Williamstown Beach Haze Series Limited Edition Prints

As the bushfires raged in Australia during the summer of 2019-2020 the skies over Melbourne were filled with smoke haze that blocked out the sun and lingered for days. In one particular morning I decided to head out and use this diffused light to photograph Williamstown Beach. When I had arrived on location I was pleasantly surprised at how the light was evenly spread out across the landscape, with the sun already above the horizon I was able to point into the sun without over exposing the photo. This was a rare opportunity and I was instantly rewarded with even light across the scene. I photographed throughout the day and into the evening and approached each scene with a square format in mind. I had prepared myself to capture as many images as I could during these conditions and returned the following day to continue before the haze cleared away.

Below is a triptych series created with 3 images of Williamstown Beach processed in black and white, these are offered as a set of 3 (triptych), a set of 2 (pair) or as individually.
